Jason: backstage approaches engineering as like from the perspective of, do you have the information that you need to make the right choice? And is it easy for anybody on your team to kind of do what they need to do to improve the software. I think another thing to add to that I think backstage does a good job of helping things along too - there's the backstage piece of it and then there's also extensibility.
