The Science of Smell
How do scientists understand how our alfactory system works? What are the big questions that are unanswered? I can say that the sense of smell is the last century system to give up its secrets to science. We still don't understand, ah, the a world and the auditory world work in two or three dimensions. Smell might work in many more dimensions than that,. And we're still trying to figure out. It's much more complex than vision or hearing, and so it's moving more slowly, but it is moving. The ultimate goal, of course, is to be able to digitize smell... But we'd have to know how to create that smell.
