What Is Base Editing?
There aren't molecular scissors involved in base editing, this is the really clever thing about it. Instead of being a scissors that cuts the genetic code into two pieces and then allows you to either slip something else in there or kind of basically disrupt the message at that point,. Base editing actually manipulates the bases, the building blocks of our DNA. You're going along and you're changing one letter in the genetic code. And that can be incredibly powerful because all that can be is the difference between an instruction working or not working.
