The creators of Furby were inspired by the Tomogachi talking gremlin. Tiger Electronics was also behind another fad that left parents scrambling to get their hands on an ultra creepytalking gremlin. The working name for the toy was Furball, and it spoke a mishmash of Japanese, Thai, Chinese, and Hebrew.
