I was really lucky. I went to a Montessori school in preschool through kindergarten and then a Quaker school first grade through 12th grade and then architecture school and college. All of those spaces gave me incredible tools and incredible freedom and encouragement to explore them in positive environment. Of course, I can look back retrospectively and wish that I had more of this or less pressure or less testing and metrics or hoops I needed to jump through at different ages. But I imagine that there's something about human nature that if we have these possibilities around us that will take them.
