The Stoics' Principle of Living According to Nature
Living is wanting to be different. It involves preference. He says being unjust here is an essential quality of living. All valuations in some sense are unjust because you can't make a rational objective argument for what you should value or prefer. Even when it comes to the assessment of life itself, whether you say yes or no, you can't logically prove whether or not life is good or life is bad. What it means to be a living being is to be something which is different and distinguished from all other living beings and is therefore striving against them.
