The novel COVID-19 was first discovered and found in China three years ago. There's a lot of controversy about its origins, but we don't know where it came from. The Chinese government won't hand over the evidence that would rule out one theory: A lab researching virology near Wuhan. "Whatever the origin was, there were massive, sort of intentional decisions made by local officials who allowed this to spread," she says.
