The Meaning of Passover

T. Gay: Deuteronomy is late, so the rules for Passover and its observance are different in these two chapters. Tige again says a little something about this as well that I think is worth citing. The name is derived from the verb Pasach, which describes the manner in which God spared the firstborn in the houses of Israel after they smeared their blood on their door posts. This sacrifice called Pesach in Hebrew, reenacts the original Pesach sacrifice. It's very clearly substitutionary.
