We have to Anticoagulate the patient as you know Anytime the blood stands still even in the body or in a in a tube outside of the body It's going to clot. Typically that is done with heparin which facilitates antithrombin 3 causing The prevention of thrombin formation. We check an ACT level and make sure that We are fully anticoagulated and good enough to go on on bypass Prior to that otherwise it can be catastrophic great.
