Venture capital came into its own on the west coast with arthur rock's aventure capital partnership in 19 61. M, and so from that point on, you've got elo six decades. It's remarkable that now it's grown to a point where, when you look at all other companies that have gone public in the united states since 19 95, three quarters of the market cap derived from bat companies. But of course, the story is not as simple as that. And as we have our conversation, we will start to unpick whether that's luck, whether that skill, whether that impact is real, whether it's a problem of survivorship bias.
