The Russian Security Apparatus and the Second Chechen War
The string of apartment bombings at the start of this second Chechen war seems to speak to something important in Putin's character. I have no doubt that this was a false flag operation, but rather it was carried out by the Russian security apparatus. This allowed him not only to make the case for why we need to go into Chechnya and also why we need a tough leader who will protect the Russian people.
