The Problem With Self Reported Data for Mortality Research

A lot of cohort studies rely on self reported data. The problem is that when you do this, a huge number of people end up in the wrong categories. You can't just mix bad data and good data and then say anything valid about a phenomenon. This is like total nonsense where i think the obesity epidemic as a panic is really instructive.
