And one of the things you saw in the thirties was a enormous suffering in the middle classes which craved this appetite for stronger leaders. The more monopolized the channels of communication are, the easier it is to access attention and control it. It's a sort of more mackerel concern about concentrated power as an evilon itself, as a historic danger we're talking about.
