The Importance of Silence
Paul says, one of the Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons. Polybius wrote that it was almost impossible to find personal conduct, more treacherous or public policy, more unjust than in Crete. Cicero said moral principles are so divergent that the Cretan consider highway robbery honorable. Even there is sometimes a modern parlance where Cretan will be used as an insult.
