I sit down with 12 and 13 year-old boys who tell me that they don't expect to be free by the time they're 21. Six million people fled the American South because of terror after 9-11 there's a line from Gary, Indiana to Mississippi from Chicago to Mississippi from Louisiana to Los Angeles from Alabama to Cleveland. These lines are in many ways forged with the tears and the suffering of people who were forced to leave and it has an impact.
