Gatekeeping and Skepticism in Trans Healthcare

This chapter explores the historical approach of gatekeeping and psychological assessments in trans healthcare, as well as the skepticism and doubt that some medical professionals within WPATH have towards trans individuals. It discusses personal experiences with gender therapists who promoted cautious approaches to transitioning and the skepticism towards distinguishing who would benefit from transitioning. It also touches on the presence of Ken Zucker and the dark realities of cis doctors treating trans people.
