Is There a Juvenile Court in Chicago?
In the late 1800s in 1899, we see the first juvenile court. This is the first time that there's like a dedicated court and judge for kids. But it doesn't change the parents' system or standardize really the process of being a kid sent to juvenile court. It just means you have your own court, but it doesn't really grant you any particular substantive rights by that court existing.
