Chris Geer teaches research practices at the University of Pennsylvania. He says researchers often don't anticipate problems that might happen in their work. Red teaming is a technique used by intelligence agencies to avoid deception, he says. It involves getting someone who isn't involved with your decision to reevaluate it and see whether they agree with you.
