How to Communicate Better in English

I grew up in Southern California, and I spent most of my time in San Diego. When someone asks us where we're from, we respond with the city where we grew up. But if we just moved to a different city a few years ago, or you moved there as an adult, we usually don't say that we're from that city. So for example, I often say that I'm from San Diego, or I'm from Southern California, but I currently live in Mexico. That's just an important advice to help you communicate better in English.
