What's the Causal Effect of Being Treated by an NP?

Study finds that on average, NPs use more resources in the emergency department settings. They keep patients longer and they spend more resources measured in dollars. For preventable hospitalizations, NPs have more of those on average. When we look at the sickest patients, we do find some signal in the direction of worse mortality outcomes for some very sick patients.
