Smoker Mountain in Labrador

Smoker is a term in the local vernacular to describe clouds of snow and spray that drift across the tundra and tega of Labrador. There is also a high hill inside of Black Bear Bay, which many indigenous people once called Smoker Mountain. No one is certain whether it got its name from the man or from the puffs of powder that float down its sides.
