The Power of Narratives
Nick Bostrom: The critiques of Bitcoin are very simple narratives, right? Bitcoin uses a lot of energy. Therefore, it's bad for the environment. It's a very easy to understand quick, clean argument. A similar argument is that Bitcoin competes with the dollar, that any sort of money or monetary instrument that is not controlled by a government is sort of with competition. For every dollar the price of coin rises, there is a corresponding detriment to the US dollar.
