Natural Gas Infrastructure and Resilience

Winter binds or solar panels can be installed without needing to be hooked up to larger infrastructure such as the pipeline. Properly weatherized microgrids have repeatedly demonstrated their potential to withstand natural disasters. This has been a sticking point for US natural gas, which relies almost exclusively on pipelines for transportation. One solution being tried is virtual pipelines where a convoy of trucks is used to transport compressed renewable natural gas or LNG.
