Hannah Kushner is the FT's global pharmaceutical correspondent in London. She says AstraZeneca may be planning a Hong Kong listing of its Chinese business. Pharmaceutical companies are not going to stop being interested in China, she adds. But it is tricky, right? And perhaps there's a sense that as the tech industry, things like semiconductors have been really under examination for their dependence on China,. maybe pharmaceutical industry is also very strategic, very innovative and could be scrutinized next.

AstraZeneca has drawn up plans to break out its China business, and France is challenging a German-led plan to build up Europe’s air defences. Plus, US businesses are cutting back on their investments in diversity and inclusion.
