Brandon Sanderson's Kickstarter Campaign Changed the Way His Books Are Being Published
Brandon Sanderson got headlines last year because he raised $41 million on Kickstarter. He used that money to self publish four secret books and then delivered them directly to 185,341 fans who contributed to the Kickstarter. The author employs 64 people at Dragonsteel books, the publishing and merchandising division of his business empire. So that is a publisher, but he's his own publisher.
