There is a literature that talks about precuriousness and willingness to take risks as being a kind of feature of the neoliberal moment. I don't know if I buy it. It's always been precarious for, for people in the arts it's more precarious now than it was. Because the current job might not last as long and you know it just gotten harder and harder and harder.
