The authors of the gospels are not spokespeople for a community that we're apparently making up based on just the existence of this text how do we begin to view these authors as something different. I don't dispute that there are Christians somewhere you know behind this text because why would an author be interested in spending the time money resources etc in writing what's essentially a life of Jesus unless they had a reason to. Canada Moss who has a book forthcoming where she even gets into more nuance here and says if you were rich enough in the ancient world or lead enough to produce literature you probably didn’t do it yourself, right? So I'm already starting to see other people in the field
