The Importance of the Sultanate

The Delhi Sultanate reached its power in the early 1330s, really much of the Indian subcontinent. Muhammad bin Tughluq ascended the throne in 1325, making him around 35 years old at the time. He was an intellectual with an extensive knowledge of the Quran, poetry and science. Some historians say that the man killed his father and his brother in order to claim the throne.
