The Alchemy of a Question Time Debate
Each of the half hour exchanges was kind of unbalanced in the sense that it was genuinely hostile all the way through. The question time programme is an interesting comparison with the 2010 election. There's an ability in the format for the head of steam to build up. Do you think we learnt anything from a seven person debate that we couldn't get out via other formats? Yes you did. I mean there's always a trade off I've always thought between the more people, potential interviewees and the amount you can learn by traditional means.
