The Importance of Xu Eishin in the Cultural Revolution

A lot of it is repressed. We've seen cycles over the years of expressions or people trying to express, you know, we had the right after Xi Jinping came into power. I mean, it's one of those things where in many ways there was a period where there's been an allowance or it's been allowed to sort of talk about it,. And then it gets pulled back and you can't really talk about it. The artist Xu Eishin has this studio full of around a hundred paintings, and they are just immense. They're two and a half meters tall, they're monochrome.
