Mississippi Saves the Taxpayers by Making a Free Alternative License Plate Available for Non Religious Citizens
The standard plate had in God we trust on it. There were a bunch of other types of plates that you can get where some of your money would go to this or that charity and you'd be promoting this or that cause, but that cost extra. So what Mississippi was effectively doing was charging its non theistic citizens if they didn't want to promote that religious message. The state decided to save the taxpayers, the wasted money altogether by just taking the damn phrase off of the license plates.
