The Role of Training in Strength Training

The principles of training are the same whether you take a team sport athlete or someone from the circus. You have to impose stress on the body in order to handle stress, and that's what I'm talking about with developing robustness and resilience over time. So, it might be a 42 kilometer race, but you need to put enough load in place,. enough chronic load in place over a period of time to allow you to cope with that acute load spike of 42 kilometers. It doesn't mean you're definitely going to break down, but you are going to increase risk.
