The ethics word has become so widely used and yet you intentionally don't use that word except to critique it. What's wrong with AI ethics? This book is about the politics of artificial intelligence, something that has a long tradition but different from purely an ethical perspective. So my focus is to say, we need a materialist political economy of artificial intelligence that makes the stakes very different. It's let's actually see how these systems are constructed, who they benefit and who they harm.
