Is Long Termism a New Idea?

I certainly think that like the future is open, that the future is possible. But sadly, most people are extremely obsessed with litigating the sins of the past. And so when you think about like technologies that could create a lot of power, obviously the individuals that steward them is really important. I don't think the cards will just fall that way. But I think it's up for us to choose collectively which way these things fall.
