Bloomberg new energy finance reckon that by 20 50, in order to have a clean grid and a pathway to net zero, we need to have about seven point seven terrawat hours of electricity storage available on the planet. But i think as we look forward, the reason that this problem is so complex and so interesting and so necessary for us to solve is that it has many dimensions. And scale in terms of tera wats a is one of them. Duration is another one, right? As we move towards having grids be much more like 70, 80, 90, 95 % renewables, the duration needs of the kind of storage that are on the grid will start to change as well.
