The Definition of a Pharisee

The word hypocrite, as used in the Gospels doesn't mean is not as narrow a meaning as the one we use today. Amy Jill Levine would like us just to quit using bad definitions and I totally agree with her. So I have translated the word Pharisee in my translation as the observant. Those people who were observing the Torah. That's really interesting. Now they are observant. And plus that's a term that is used today for Jews who are observant of Torah versus lax Jews.
