The Importance of SIP for Therapists

The hope of an encounter like this is that the child now has an internalized template, an embodied experience of an adult outside of her family saying who you are and what is inside you matters. And so going into her adult life as she begins to gain more autonomy and more ability to make decisions for herself,. She at least has some experience of another person entering into that inner subjective space with her and wanting to get it and feeling that with her.
