Women in Environmental Justice

Joanne Tall is a member of the Agla LaCota in South Dakota. Peggy Shepherd co founded and serves as the executive director for we act for environmental justice, a nonprofit based in New York. She was once arrested for protesting the leakage of a sewage system in a nearby river. In 2021, she will be appointed to the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council.
