The Different Levels of Fury and Fury in Ukraine

There is an energy and an intensity and a sense of purpose in all these things. And that energy and sense of purpose, it's not very detached. It sometimes spills over into pure rage and hatred. I had one very important realization for myself when I was in Kiev about the phases of the war. There are different levels of anger and fear and sense of outrage. Of course the invasion itself was a source of outrage and indignation and anger. But people did not, they sort of expected of the Russian, they weren't surprised. They expected the Russians to behave having invaded in a certain way and they did. As furious as people were, they hadn't reached the level that they reached later
