Ryan Johnson and Star Wars: Episode 8
Ryan Johnson is one of the few directors that has these more independent films kind of doing his own thing, but was able to handle all the weights and the stress of doing a franchise. The problem, I think, with Ryan Johnson and Star Wars, at least personally, was he didn't seem to care as much about following the lore and sticking to the rules that George had already established. To me, this is where a lot of it falls apart. You're never going to be able to trick all of them and still have a good story.
