Cantonese and the Threat of Endangering It
In Cantonese we do have a lot of vowels that aren't in Mandarin. I don't think it will disappear because Cantonese is really different from Shanghai news. And even nowadays in Guangdong province, if you come across any people,. any people in the street, you speak to them, they were replying Cantonese. They want to reply Mandarin Chinese at all. So I don't really think it is in danger.
