The Case for Confrontational Politics
I think even reformist politics requires some degree of confrontation. So was Sweden a revolutionary state in the 20th century? Absolutely not. It was a reformist state by any definition, but it still required that momentum of class struggle and organization. We saw in successful examples of social democratic states, extremely strong unions pushing centralized wage agreements. And you saw them able to really transform the patterns of capitalist development itself.
