Asteroids - What Are They Made Of?

There are other asteroid missions under way or in the works. One is osiris rex, which is supposed to return samples from an asteroid. And another is dart, who is supposed to shoot something at an asteroid and see what happens. Scientists generally say that that might help people figure out how to mitigate an asteroid threat.
