The Bible Is Not Propaganda
Right-wing leaders cherry pick every religious text. They just happen to pick a thing that's not even in the bible, they decided that. The reason they pretended that that was their religious preference is because they want to control women. And it drives them nuts that they don't get to treat them like chattel any more. Religion is just the best excuse they use to commit that violence in their frustration.
