The Rise of Southern Baptist Calvinism
New calvinism is a movement committed to advancing an exclusively calvinistic understanding of salvation. The majority of southern baptists have fellowship happily with its calvinist brethren, while kindly resisting calvinism itself. We propose that what most southern batists believe about salvation can rightly be called traditional southern batist sociology - which should be understood in distinction to calvinistic sociology. It was founded by people who supported slavery and other things that we would find detestable.
