What Language Did the Franks Speak?

Originally, the franks themselves would have mostly spoken a germanic language that we call frankish. But even very early on, not all franks would have spoken the exact same language. It would have been made up of various different dialectsd accents which would have been mutually intelligible to begin with but gradually diverge as the franks began to expand influence.
