A reliance on drugs to mask social problems, personal problems is not a good thing. I think that if you talked to someone who was a kind of anti-drug campaigner, they could much better explain the reasons why drugs can be used as a destructive crutch for someone who actually needs to address what's going on in their life. If we treat them like something that you might occasionally enjoy like a fast food binge or something like that, where it's just one off thing now and again... then I see no problem with doing it.
