What Does Atonement Mean?
Lewis says we individually are spiteful, greedy, envious and unfair. He defines religious words as the common man understands them. No one word will express to them what Christians mean by atonement, you must paraphrase. Lewis: Christianity is precisely the one religion from which the miraculous cannot be separated. If you can't teach it to a first grader, you can't teaching it.
