The Benefits of Doing a Speed Workout for Distance Runners

A fly in is an acceleration to about 95 to maybe 99% top speed. It's not a full sprint and then you decelerate on the back end. This can be done as a warm up before your actual workout. I would actively recommend against doing speed work at the end of a distance workout for these reasons.
