The Importance of Flags in Anglican Churches

The U.S. flag code is particularly unhelpful in this regard because the way that the the state has mandated the flag is supposed to be displayed usually means the flag is seen near the chancell and so basically anytime you're looking at the altar you're also seen a flag which I think is problematic. So many of the people who are reflexively wanting to do flags in their churches aren't thinking through it they're just sort of following what's essentially by the way a progressive late 19th century early 20th century pairing of the so-called Christian flag with the American flag. "We should probably have to be willing to offer criticisms of the United States' way of doing it
